A thief carrying a box will drop his disguise long enough to reveal his face, leading to an arrest

This bony move landed this thief with the box in criminal trouble.

A robbery suspect was caught on surveillance video carrying a cardboard box over his head as he allegedly stole phones from a Florida store – but he briefly removed the ill-fitting ad hoc mask, just long enough to reveal his cover to drop such a report report.

The owner of Miami Gardens-based Irepair Tech shared footage of the bizarre burglary, which took place around 4 a.m. Saturday, with NBC.

Footage shows the unidentified man smashing glass displays and stealing phones while displaying the box, apparently trying to hide his face.

At one point, he briefly took the box lid off his head while browsing the store’s wares

Store owner Jeremias Berganza told NBC 6 the man stole 19 iPhones and $8,000 in cash.

Berganza said after seeing the man’s face he started looking around the square where his cell phone repair shop is located and asked others to let him know if they saw the suspect.

Eventually, the alleged thief was found in the same square drinking with friends at a nearby liquor store, which the outlet said led to his arrest by Miami Gardens police later in the day.

Authorities have not released the suspect’s name or any other information about the robbery.
