Biden plays Mario Kart with granddaughter at Camp David
Don’t think about the impeachment process – President Biden spent some weekend weekend with his granddaughter at Camp David, the president’s retreat in the Maryland mountains.
Naomi Biden, the daughter of Hunter Biden, wrote in an Instagram story on Saturday that her grandfather “barely” beat her in a game of “Mario Kart”.
“The secret service made an exception and allowed him to drive himself,” she posted and linked it to a short video in which they played the video games. “A bit rusty, but he still (hardly) won.”
The White House said that Biden and his family are spending the weekend at Camp David for the first time since joining the White House in January.
The president has nothing else on his agenda other than a meeting with his national security team.
He got there in a motorcade Friday afternoon after Air Force One landed in Hagerstown, Md.
Despite the impeachment trial of his predecessor, President Donald Trump, which continued on Saturday, White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki said Biden would watch a “piece” of the trial but leave it to the Senate to decide on an outcome .
Trump was acquitted by 57-43 votes.
Biden’s government was also embroiled in a scandal on Saturday when another spokesman, TJ Ducklo, resigned for allegedly threatening a reporter who wanted to write about his relationship with another journalist.
The heavily guarded mountain resort has enabled Dwight Eisenhower Presidents to escape the glow of the headlights.
Guests ride golf carts around the rustic lodges and have access to the tennis courts, horseshoe pits, swimming pool, golf driving range, as well as tobogganing, ice skating, and snowmobiling, according to the government on their Camp David website.
