Bindi Irwin greets the little girl and pays tribute to her late father by name


Bindi Irwin and her husband Chandler Powell have welcomed their first child together, the wildlife expert said on Instagram on Friday. Irwin revealed her daughter’s name and said the middle name honors her future father, Steve Irwin.

“March 25, 2021. I am celebrating the two loved ones of my life. I wish my beloved husband a happy first wedding anniversary and our beautiful daughter a birthday,” wrote the 22-year-old on Instagram and shared a picture with her husband and her newborn baby.

“Grace Warrior Irwin Powell,” she continued. “Our graceful warrior is the most beautiful light.” Irwin explained that Grace was her great-grandmother’s name as well as the name of her husband’s eighteenth-century relatives. “Her middle name, Warrior Irwin, pays homage to my father and his legacy as the most incredible wildlife warrior,” wrote Irwin.

Steve Irwin, an Australian television personality and conservationist known as the “Crocodile Hunter”, was killed in 2006 of a stingray filming the Great Barrier Reef. He was 44 years old.

His wife Terri and his children Bindi and Robert continued his legacy through the operation of the Australia Zoo.

Bindi Irwin and her family also help run the zoo’s nonprofit Wildlife Warriors, which the late Irwin founded in 2002 announced She was pregnant last August. Irwin called her baby a “wildlife warrior”.

She recently announced a new line of Baby Wildlife Warrior apparel ahead of its due date, the proceeds of which will support Wildlife Warriors Worldwide’s environmental efforts.

In a post on his own Instagram account, Irwin’s husband wrote a message to his newborn daughter. “You have a great life ahead of you and no matter what, you will be surrounded by a whole lot of love,” he wrote. “Thank you for giving presents to your lovely mother and me on our wedding day, so excited to have you at home.”
