Christian Eriksen scores for Denmark in the 2nd minute

Christian Eriksen officially returned to the pitch for Denmark on Saturday for the first time since his horrific collapse last year and he wasted no time.

Eriksen entered Saturday night’s friendly against the Netherlands at half-time in Amsterdam and scored just two minutes later.

The Netherlands won the game 4-2.

Eriksen collapsed from cardiac arrest during Denmark’s Euro 2020 game against Finland in June. The game was suspended and Eriksen was taken to a local hospital where he underwent surgery and is now suffering from a heart attack.

The 30-year-old was allowed to train with Denmark again earlier this year and said he hopes to play with the side at the World Cup in Qatar in the autumn. He also signed a deal with Brentford FC in January to end the season at the Premier League club.

His goal on Saturday is his first ever since scoring for Inter Milan almost a year ago. He also had an assist for Brentford in their win over Burnley on Saturday.
