Erling Haaland hits old club Borussia Dortmund with a jump golazo
It had to be Erling Haaland and it had to be glorious.
The Manchester City striker scored one of the wildest goals of his career against his old club Borussia Dortmund in Wednesday’s Champions League group stage game.
After a cross from full-back João Cancelo seemed to drift a little too far from the attacking Haaland, the 22-year-old somehow shot his leg about head high for the opening goal.
Manchester City would eventually achieve the 2-1 win. Dortmund took the lead early in the second half a highlight goal by Jude Bellinghambut John Stones equalized with his own laser in the 80th minute.
The win improves City to 2-0 in Group G and puts them in a position to win the group.
This goal was Haaland’s 13th of the season between Premier League and Champions League. So it seems quite questionable whether he will live up to the sky-high expectations raised after Manchester City triggered his €60m release clause.
