Footage shows Gabby Petito, Brian Laundrie at Whole Foods before she died
A newly surfaced video shows Gabby Petito and Brian Laundrie shopping together at a Wyoming Whole Foods on the last day she was seen alive in public.
Surveillance footage obtained by Fox News on Monday shows the couple walking across the car park and browsing the aisles of the grocery store on the afternoon of August 27, 2021 – the date Petito’s family believes Laundrie killed her.
Laundrie, 23, admitted in a suicide note to killing his girlfriend, 22, before taking his own life about a year ago.
In the footage, Laundrie and Petito can be seen pulling into the Whole Foods parking lot in Petito’s white Ford Transit van at around 2:11 p.m
They get out of the van and walk across the parking lot into the store – Petito with her arms crossed in front of her and Laundrie with her hands in her pockets.
Interior surveillance footage with no sound shows the couple walking the aisles and shopping for about 15 minutes.
They leave the store and walk across the parking lot back to the van, where footage says they sit for about 20 minutes before exiting onto Highway 89.
Petito’s body was found about 30 miles north of Whole Foods about weeks later. She was found strangled on September 19, 2021 at a campground near the Grand Tetons.
A coroner said he believes she was killed three to four weeks before her body was found, and a civil lawsuit filed by her parents earlier this year alleges Laundrie killed her daughter on the evening of August 27.
The couple had been traveling around the country together in a converted van before Laundrie strangled Petito to death. Laundrie drove back to his parents’ Florida home in the van without Petito in September, and Petito’s parents soon reported her missing.
The case caught the nation’s attention as investigators searched for Petito and then Laundrie as he too went missing and was later found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in Florida Park.
