Hundreds of people named Josh fight for the name in a mock duel
You are just Joshing.
Hundreds of men named Josh flocked to a park in Lincoln, Nebraska on Saturday to have a mock pool noodle duel over the “right” of the name.
People named Josh from all over the country made it simultaneously during the goofball battle – they laughed and hit each other with the colorful foam floats.
The doppelganger duel – called “Josh Fight” and “Josh vs. Josh vs. Josh” – was the brainchild of Josh Swain, 22, from Tucson, Arizona, who wrote to other people using this first and last name while he was talking to each other The coronavirus lockdown last year was boring.
His ironic message asked the fellow Josh Swains to meet for a duel on April 24, 2021 at a random set of coordinates.
“We fight, whoever wins can keep the name,” he joked. “Everyone else has to change their name, you have a year to prepare, good luck.”
The event later became the subject of a Reddit thread which, according to NPR, drew Joshes of all kinds to the field at the air park.
The festivities began with a “fair battle between rocks, paper and scissors” between Josh Swain and another Josh Swain from Omaha.
The Arizona student won and secured the title of best Josh Swain.
The pool noodle fight was then open to everyone with the first name Josh.
Ultimately, a 5 year old nicknamed “Little Josh” was crowned the winner of the fight a tweet.
