Kanye West said he plans to run for president in 2024 and has addressed far-right provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos in a video posted to Twitter on Sunday.

The video, in which West says Yiannopoulos is working on his campaign, comes as the rapper’s Twitter account was restored after he was banned from the app after he made vile, anti-Semitic comments last month.

“This is Milo working on the campaign,” West, 45, said in the video posted by the PatriotTakes Twitter account.

“Is that an announcement?” one of the men asks while they both laugh.

“I think it is,” Yiannopoulos – who most recently worked as an unpaid intern for right-wing arsonist Marjorie Taylor Greene – replied with a chuckle. “Thank you, I accept.”

Cameraman West then asked, “So you’re running?”

“Yes,” Ye replied, laughing. “It’s just because nobody can tell me, you know, ‘You should say this, you shouldn’t say that,’ you know? It’s just that we’re moving towards the future.”

West and Yiannopoulos have shared the experience of making horrible remarks and being quickly slammed by the public.

West, who changed his legal name to Ye, tweeted in early October that he was leaving “Death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE” and was subsequently banned from the social media platform.

Earlier Sunday, the musician-turned-designer posted a message on his Twitter profile to see if his account has been restored since Elon Musk took over the company.

“Try testing see if my twitter is unblocked,” West wrote to his nearly 32 million followers.

Musk, who bought the company for $44 billion, said last month that West’s account had been restored prior to the acquisition and that he had not been consulted beforehand.

The billionaire restored former President Donald Trump’s Twitter account a day earlier after polling users. Trump, who also announced a 2024 White House run, was tossed by Twitter after the Jan. 6, 2021 Capitol riot.

Yiannopoulos, who continues to stay away from Twitter, had largely disappeared from public view since 2017 when he made comments allegedly advocating pedophilia – declaring that sex between 13-year-olds and older men can be “life-affirming”.

He made headlines over the summer by announcing his modest, unpaid gig with Taylor Greene.
