LAFC reportedly complete the deal to sign Gareth Bale
One of the greatest British footballers of all time is reportedly coming to America. Gareth Bale is reportedly set to sign a deal with Los Angeles FC multiple reports.
Bale’s deal terms were not available. Bale, 32, will become a free transfer after his contract with Real Madrid expires at the end of June. Bale’s deal with LAFC will reportedly last until next June, although there are reports Bale can extend contract.
The deal won’t take up space for a designated player, allowing LAFC to take additional steps to push the team above the salary cap.
Reportedly, Carlos Vela is also re-signing with the team, putting LAFC in a difficult situation with salary caps.
The Welshman Bale joins the MLS after a successful career at Tottenham and Real Madrid. Bale won the Champions League five times with Real Madrid.
The move comes weeks after LAFC added Italy national team defender Giorgio Chiellini.
LAFC already leads the Western Conference with a record of 9-3-3. Bale and Chiellini are expected to join the club in early July and could play against LA Galaxy on July 8th.
