Man kills woman, mother-in-law before killing himself
A Tennessee man killed his wife and mother before turning the gun on himself Monday.
Marie Varsos, 31, and Deborah Sisco, 60, were killed in the attack on Sisco’s home in suburban Nashville, police said in a statement.
Suspected killer Shaun Varsos, 36, was arrested last month for trying to strangle Marie at gunpoint, the Tennessean said.
On Monday morning, the suspect broke into the house where his estranged wife lived “armed with a shotgun,” according to Lebanese police.
“It is believed that Shaun Varsos was shot and injured during the incident before Marie and Deborah were shot and killed,” the statement said.
Shaun was later found in an SUV near his home with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to police.
Metro Nashville public schools were closed before the killer’s body was found, the newspaper reports.
Shaun was in custody after being charged with grievous bodily harm with a lethal weapon in connection with an attack on Marie on March 11, who filed for divorce just a week earlier, News 4 Nashville reports.
