Manchester United’s Paul Pogba’s home was broken into during the game
Manchester United star Paul Pogba has said his house was burgled during Tuesday night’s 1-0 defeat by Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.
Pogba said on Twitter that her house was broken into in the last minute of the game. Both Pogba and his wife were at the Old Trafford game but their children were sleeping at home.
“Last night our family’s worst nightmare came true when our home was broken into and broken into while our babies were sleeping in their bedroom,” he wrote. “The burglars were in our home less than five minutes, but in that time they took from us something more valuable than anything we had in our home… our sense of security and security.
“That happened in the final minutes of the game last night when they knew we wouldn’t be home. My wife and I rushed home not knowing if our children were safe and unharmed. As a father, there is no worse feeling in this world than not being there to protect your children and I sincerely hope no one ever has to feel what I felt last night.”
Pogba is the latest athlete to have his house broken into recently during a game. Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green’s home was broken into while he was at the Super Bowl last month and more than $1 million worth of property was reportedly stolen. Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig’s home was also broken into while he was playing in Game 7 of the 2017 World Series.
