Mbappe, Lukaku and Kane are popular bets
Bets are betting on a well-known name to become the top scorer at Euro 2020.
Kylian Mbappe from France, Romelu Lukaku from Belgium and Harry Kane from England are the three most popular bets to win the Golden Shoe with the most goals at Euro 2020. Mbappe is the player with the most bets at BetMGM with almost 18% of the tickets, while 14.6% of the tickets are on Lukaku. Twelve percent of the tickets are on Kane.
Most of the money is on Lukaku with 15.2% of the handle, while Mbappe is in second place with 13.5%. The three players are the three favorites for the Golden Shoe.
[Euro 2020 betting preview]
There’s a good chance Mbappe and Kane will face each other in the round of 16 after the group stage. Kane and England are the favorites in Group D, while France play in a Group F with Portugal and Germany. The second-placed team in Group F will play against the top team in Group D. If England wins their group then at least one of England, France, Germany and Portugal will be eliminated before the quarter-finals.
Keep this in mind when placing your bets. And keep in mind that France were not a high-scoring team at the 2018 World Cup. The French attack is laden with Mbappe, Antoine Griezmann, Paul Pogba and Karim Benzema. But the French scored two or fewer goals in five of their seven games at the World Cup.
Bettors looking for a relatively long shot like the Italian Ciro Immobile. Their goal record for the national team is not phenomenal but Italy have a very feasible path to the semi-finals and this is an Italian team that can score the goals. Immobile pulls 12.3% of the grip. He is the number 7 favorite.
