North Korea fires another ballistic missile at East Sea, South Korea says
South Korea says North Korea launched a ballistic missile at its eastern waters.
South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff said the launch occurred on Friday but gave no other details, including the weapon’s removal.
The start, the latest in a series of weapons tests of North Korea in recent weeks, as South Korea concluded an annual military exercise that North Korea regards as an invasion rehearsal.
This comes as North Korean leader Kim Jong-un is preparing to take place soon a tactical nuclear test, US and South Korean officials said.
“We think they’re ready to go. Kim just has to give the thumbs up,” a senior U.S. State Department official told CBS News on Thursday.
It would be North Korea’s first nuclear test in five years.
