Ohio man claims dog shot himself in the face
It was a crazy story.
A drunk man from Ohio who was accused of shooting his dog tried to claim that his pooch shot himself in the face.
Jonathan George, 31, told the big story to the cops when they got to his home in Norwalk and found the wounded animal – Lula, a four-year-old boxer, said a report.
She was conscious but had a gunshot wound to the head.
“He let her in, said his dog shot himself and he taught the dog to bring him a gun,” said Norwalk Police Capt. Jim Fulton the television station WJW.
“The dog has a gun in its mouth and it accidentally went off – the officers didn’t believe this story.”
George later changed his story, saying the shot was fired while the gun was being unloaded, WJW said.
According to his August 30 arrest report, the police beat him for an offense of firing a gun while drunk, firing a gun in a community, and cruelty to animals.
George’s blood alcohol level was reportedly 0.17 – double the legal limit at the time of the shooting.
“You shouldn’t drink and handle guns is the bottom line,” Fulton told the broadcaster.
Lula lost an eye during an operation and is reported to still have fragments of spheres in her head, according to WJW. The Huron County Humane Society has raised money through donations for the $ 3,000 dog surgery and other expenses.
“I don’t get it,” Daphne Nelson, a Huron County investigator, told the broadcaster. “I’m not sure why someone is drunk and playing with a gun – it just doesn’t make sense to me.”
