Prince Harry will attend his father’s coronation “alone” as his wife Meghan Markle will not be “brave or strong enough”, according to the late Princess Diana’s former butler.

Paul Burrell, who worked for Diana for over 10 years until her sudden death in 1997, said that the King “maintained the moral high ground” by inviting the exiled kings to the May 6 coronation.

“It’s probably incredibly uncomfortable for them to participate, especially Meghan,” the 64-year-old told Closer Magazine. “Are you ready to face the music?”

“I don’t think Meghan is brave enough or strong enough to be there – she would have to look a family in the eye who pushed her under the bus,” he continued.

“But I think Harry might come alone and she’s probably told him she can’t be by his side with him when he comes.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex – who recently received their May Day ceremony invitations – are still debating whether or not to make the 5,459-mile journey.

Burrell noted that “the ball really and truly falls to Harry and Meghan,” adding that Harry will find it difficult to see Queen Consort Camilla “where his mother could have been.”

In his bombastic memoir, Spare, Harry left no stone unturned when it came to divulging family secrets and private conversations.

While promoting the book in a 60 Minutes interview, the Duke famously described Camilla as a “bad guy” and the third person in Charles and Diana’s marriage.

The comment was reportedly a driving factor in the King’s decision to evict the Sussexes from their Frogmore Cottage.

Representatives for the Sussexes have said “an immediate decision” on whether they will make the trip “will not be announced”.

If they leave, the exiled royals will be met with the “cold shoulder” by senior members of the royal family.

“You will be given the cold shoulder by many relatives. One said to me, ‘I hope they will be sitting in Iceland,'” a royal source told the Daily Mail.

“A lot of the family just doesn’t want anything to do with them anymore. If they must see them at the coronation, so be it, but they will not associate with them.”
