Scientists have found that rats have rhythm and happily hop along to Queen and Lady Gaga.

The fastidious rodents also liked a bit of Mozart, the Japanese study found.

Scientists have found that the ability to move to a musical beat is primarily associated with humans.

Researchers at the University of Tokyo equipped rats with devices that could detect the slightest head movement and played them Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way”, Queen’s “Another One Bites the Dust” and a Mozart piano sonata.

They found that the rats managed to keep in time with all tracks when played at 132 beats per minute – just like humans.

But the study showed that they liked it less when the piece was slowed down or sped up.
