Texas man Vincent Kopacek, 76, groped a teenage girl on the flight to Montana: Feds
A young girl traveling to the Yellowstone National Park area on a family vacation was groped repeatedly by a man on her flight to Montana last week.
The suspect, 76-year-old Vincent Kopacek, reportedly touched the 15-year-old victim while sitting in the seat behind her on the July 8 flight from Austin, Texas to Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport, according to indictments against him.
Before the flight took off, Kopacek put his hands on the girl’s seat – and then began “touching her body during the flight,” an affidavit from FBI agents investigating the case.
“Shortly after the start [Kopacek] grabbed and squeezed her arm, “says the affidavit.
“Then he moved his hand between her arm and her torso, ran his fingers over her torso and grabbed her waist. At some point the male touched her breast and felt her breast over her clothes, “it continues.
The traumatized teen, identified as “AG” in the documents, adjusted her body several times to avoid his hands and got up to go to the bathroom to get away from him, the documents say.
According to the Federal Office, the fast-thinking girl also recorded around 20 short videos and several photos to document the alleged fondling.
“In at least one video, the hand AG fumbles over her shirt while AG looks at her cell phone,” it says in the documents.
She also took another picture of him walking to baggage claim.
The teenager told her parents about the incident when they got to their hotel, who then called the police.
Authorities have tracked down the alleged sick person and charged him with assault, abusive sexual contact and attempted sexual abuse of a minor.
According to court documents, he was released from prison the first time he appeared in federal court in Montana.
