Texas teacher charged with sexually assaulting students
A former Houston area high school teacher was charged with sexually abusing a 16-year-old student during the spring break, a report said.
Katrina Maxwell reportedly admitted to police that she had sex with the male student on two occasions while she was at the C.E. King High School taught, as evidenced by new court documents Click2Houston received.
The alleged relationship between Maxwell and the minor was first noticed by another county employee, the report said.
This worker reported an incident in which the teacher allegedly threw scissors at the student’s head because he was sitting next to his girlfriend.
Maxwell reportedly admitted to investigators that she and the student had sex in the back seat of her car. The student told police the couple had sex several times between March and April, the court files say.
The Sheldon Independent School District conducted its own investigation and fired Maxwell.
“The district has conducted a thorough investigation and upon closing we find that these reports are valid,” the district said in a statement received from the outlet.
“Sheldon ISD is deeply saddened by this and we are determined to continue working with law enforcement to ensure that Ms. Maxwell is fully prosecuted.”
