Tornado sweeps through residential neighborhoods in Arkansas
Severe storms woke residents of Springdale, Arkansas in the early hours Wednesday as a suspected EF-3 tornado ripped through the city.
Several businesses and homes were destroyed as the Twister passed through neighborhoods for more than five miles. Drone footage shows bedrooms open to the sky because the roof and walls no longer exist.
FOX Weather’s Robert Ray arrived just after sunrise to find a warehouse the size of a football field twisted and destroyed and overturned trucks.
The terror experienced in Arkansas was similar to that seen by residents in St. Joseph, Missouri, the day before.
The National Weather Service believes an EF-1 tornado ripped off the roof of a house.
Mississippi saw the brunt of the system with more than a dozen tornado warnings issued in the state on Wednesday.
FOX Weather was one block from the governor’s house and had to take shelter from the approaching storm.
Just outside of town, homes and businesses bore the brunt of the potential tornado.

The storm system will continue to march east. The threat of strong to severe thunderstorms extends from New York State to Florida on Thursday.
