Trump urges Americans to get vaccinated and shoots J & J.’s break
Former President Donald Trump urged Americans to get vaccinated against the coronavirus in a Monday evening interview in which he again criticized the federal hiatus of the Johnson & Johnson sting.
“I encourage them to take it,” Trump told Fox News’ Sean Hannity in a one-hour session interview, referring to the COVID-19 vaccine.
Trump, who was hit by coronavirus last October, received his vaccine.
He added that the drug companies “all want me to advertise because a lot of our people don’t want to take the vaccine.”
But Trump wasn’t sure why people were reluctant to take the shot.
“I’m not sure what it is, Republican, I don’t know what it is,” he said.
While promoting the shot in the interview, the former president also tore open the hiatus for the Johnson & Johnson vaccine announced last Tuesday by the Food and Drug Administration and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
“What the FDA did to Johnson & Johnson is so stupid,” said Trump.
“This is the worst thing you could have done from a public relations perspective. And it probably affects even the other vaccines a little,” said the former president.
Use of the single-dose vaccine COVID-19 was discontinued in the US after reports that six women in the country developed dangerous blood clots – including one who died – after receiving the vaccine.
The Biden administration has defended the break, arguing that it was the right precaution to keep Americans safe.
