United flight attendant hospitalized after altercation with angry passenger
A United Airlines flight attendant was taken to hospital after an altercation with an angry, screaming passenger on a flight to Chicago on Sunday morning.
In one video, a woman holding a young child was shown screaming and told to “stand back” by an attendant on board a flight from San Francisco International Airport to Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport. posted on Twitter.
“Where is it?” The woman cried out after screaming in the aisle of the plane, video captured and uploaded by Peter Kondelis shows.
“Ma’am, we’re landing,” a flight attendant told her.
Then things got hectic.
“Sarah, step back,” the flight attendant was heard saying to the woman repeatedly, each time with more intensity in her voice.
Another flight attendant ran down the aisle to help her colleague, the video before the end shows.
Chicago police said they were called about “a disturbance” that happened aboard Flight 476 and arrived at the O’Hare Airport gate around 6 a.m
Three people – including a flight attendant – were taken to Resurrection Hospital for observation, police and United Airlines said.
A United Airlines spokesman said in a statement to The Post. “We are grateful to our crew for dealing with this difficult situation professionally and for putting the safety of our team and our customers first.”
It’s unclear why the three people were taken to hospital, but no serious injuries have been reported, according to United.
The FBI is also investigating the altercation.
